Temitope Balogun Joshua was a Nigerian charismatic pastor, televangelist, and philanthropist. He was the leader and founder of Synagogue, Church of All Nations, a Christian megachurch that runs the Emmanuel TV television station from Lagos. Tens of thousands of people have attended his weekly services in Nigeria’s biggest city, Lagos. His rise to prominence in the late 1990s coincided with the explosion of “miracle” programs performed on national TV by various pastors. TB Joshua was often mocked for lacking the finesse of his colleagues during “deliverance” sessions – an intense prayer that resembles exorcism. His ministry professed to heal all manner of illnesses including HIV/Aids and attracted people. He was 57 and died on June 5, 2021

Cause of death

The popular televangelist died on Saturday night, his church confirmed. In the statement, the church said the last words of the prophet were: Watch and pray. ‘ “As Prophet TB Joshua says, “The greatest way to use life is to spend it on something that will outlive it”.

On Saturday 5th June 2021, Prophet TB Joshua spoke during the Emmanuel TV Partners Meeting: “Time for everything — time to come here for prayer and time to return home after the service,” T.B. Joshua Ministries wrote in a Facebook post.

The cause of the death of T.B Joshua is not yet known. Several media houses have reported his death but none mentioned what actually led to his death. This post will be updated once the cause is made public.
