Aaron Arthur Ferguson, professionally known as Shona Ferguson, was a Botswana-born, South African actor, executive producer, and co-founder of Ferguson Films, alongside his wife, Connie Ferguson. He started his acting career as Ace on the South African TV series Generations. In April 2006, he started acting on the South African Venda soap opera Muvhango as Dr. Leabua and gained fame from the role. He left the show in March 2007. He then starred as Itumeleng from 2011–2013 on The Wild, an M-Net soap opera. He died at age of 47.

Cause of death

On 26 June 2021, Ferguson was admitted to Pinehaven Hospital due to COVID-19. With his condition getting worse, he was airlifted towards the mid-days of July to Milpark Hospital. [10] On the afternoon of 30 July, according to a statement issued on his Ferguson Films’ Instagram account, he had succumbed to COVID-19 related complications. He was 47-years-old at the time of his death.[11] A private funeral was held on 4 August 2021, where he was buried at the Fourways Memorial Park. [12] A memorial service in honor of his legacy took place 2 days later, the 6th of August, with an attendance of 50 people due to South Africa’s level 3 lockdown regulations.
